Newsreader
Newsreader is a book-length poem of text and image that explores the linguistic and visual conventions of news as interactive globalised multimedia. It is presented as a coptic-bound hardcover book with newsprint pages.
Images of television newsreaders feature throughout this artist’s book, sparsely dispersing the poetic text, which is drawn from newspapers, magazines, periodicals, internet articles, and television news broadcasts, in addition to texts integrated into news in these contexts, such as horoscopes, advertisements, games, and conversations or comments. These fragments of language have been combined and repeatedly written through to produce the poetic text of Newsreader.
